A woman experiencing homelessness tragically died after being hit by a bus from line 59 in the underpass of the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Constitución. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the accident, including whether the victim crossed imprudently, whether she was attempting suicide, or if she was asking for help possibly as a victim of gender-based violence from her partner.
According to gathered information, the bus struck the woman with the right side of the windshield and ran her over. After the alert to 911, emergency personnel assisted her partner, who was in shock. The affected woman was found naked and with serious injuries due to the impact, which forced the closure of traffic in the San Juan Avenue tunnel.
On the other hand, the 41-year-old bus driver was detained by the City Police to conduct the necessary investigations regarding the accident. The situation has caused shock in the area, and clarification of the facts is expected to determine the corresponding responsibilities.
